Would you happen to know which of the greys above is the match for my frame? Would this be right:Ducati 916 748 996 Frame Silver Touch Up Paint | eBay It is only to cover a few small marks.
bike-paint.co.uk have been very helpful on the phone and are going to send me though some samples painted on card.
Early bikes were a darker silver in some cases, for example the 2001 748R later ones were lighter. I have painted some headlamp holders in the past using ICI Grigio steel which was a perfect match for the Silver on a 998 2002 model. So if your bike is 2002 onwards then it should be fine and if not you will require the darker silver, sorry the name of which I do not know as I have never had reason to use anything but the Grigio Steel paint. Motor factors will have a colour chip so you could try going to one and seeing how they match up.
Mine is a 2001 996BP, but it was first registered in 2002 (according to the nice Italian lady at Ducati HO, Italy). So its ICI Grigio steel for me then. Cheers Red.
The good thing is if your frame does happen to be darker you could always tint the paint or get a motor factor to tint it if you are not using it in an aerosol.
