hey folks As I’ll be tracking the 1199 (will be euro Trackdays) I’m wondering what your recommendations are I’m aware I can’t change the profile settings like the 1299 so I would like to keep the tyres to 200/55 Obviously Pirelli do them But I have noticed that both Michelin (power slick evo) and continental race attack Both similar priced What’s everyone’s thoughts on these and compound types ? Thanks Steve
Pirelli Supercorse Sc2 rear Sc1 front in standard sizes 120/ 200-55 i get 4 days out of a rear tire, after getting the rear spring changed that is Sc 2 fronts are not recommended as they need a great deal of heat to keep them working, prevent front end 'issues' a bit more expensive, but you can get them at every race track day etc
Thanks for the information guys Next Trackday will be in March to almeria hopefully think I’m gknna take a few different brands with me and see which ones suit Cheers Steve
Michelin Power Cup/Slick evo/ultimate are my choice. Available in all the major compounds and super confidence inspiring. They can be a bit pricey but worth every cent!
Thanks joe have you noticed any TC diferrences compared to the Pirelli slick Ducati recommend ? I can buy part worn slicks but quite fancy trying different brands Steve
Sure am Steve You'll be fine with that. Magic tyres- go round corners as fast as you like, no brakes required.... .....
The great thing about the KR is you can keep running them right down to the canvas and they still grip really well. A day on the Pirelli and they are well past their best, although this years compounds have changed for the better in that respect and they dont drop off a cliff like they did the last few years. I'm managing a couple of days on the R6.
