I have a termi back box for my 749 now, the slip-on one. I also have a second hand horizontal-cylinder exhaust pipe so i can delicately remove the catalyst for this cylinder. I want to keep the stock parts to hand so i can convert it back to normal when required (quiet trackdays etc). Quite a lot of the info about flashing maps is getting quite old now on the forums and a lot of the links are going dead that obviously used to lead somewhere!. It looks like i would be best served by getting IAWDiag software and the appropriate xdf file for my ECU, the relevant cables for the simplified ECU connector that these bikes run and that will allow me to communicate with the bike. I then need a bin file to suit my set-up, the longer term aim is to get it to one of the more local specialists and get it correctly mapped but in the short term i am figuring that mine will be close enough to, say, the ducati performance map that everyone recommends. However, i cant seem to find anywhere that has a repository of modified or alternative maps. I can only find a few standard maps which arent going to cover what i need. Havign IAW diag will then help with TPS set-up etc and also service light reset in future. Is there anyone who is up to speed these days on this that might be able to point me in the right direction please?
Don't know for definite yet, can arrived today and exhaust pipe will be here later in the week. I need to get my head in there and double check this evening, it's a 2nd gen 2005 749 bip and i was expecting 5AM(?)
Likely to be a 5AM. Do you have an Android device? If so buy USB cable and Fiat adapter from LonElec. Then purchase TuneECU for Android. Google TuneECU Ducati.
Thank you Chris, Ah maybe that is the step i was missing, I have an phone apple but i have an older android phone somewhere and my other half has a tablet that i could borrow. I remember having the same problem with an old Alfa where i had to nick her phone to talk to the ECU.
