V4 V4/pikes Peak Newbie Questions…

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Ethel the Aardvark, Jul 12, 2026.

  1. I'm on the brink of returning to the Ducati fold.
I have my eye on a 2025 (just 12 months old now) V4 PP

I can't get a test ride on a V4PP and no benefit to me to trying a V4S.... wind noise and comfort are the important bits I'm concerned about (had an S1000XR for a while recently... couldn't sort the wind noise and seat discomfort). Currently on an R1300RS, wind noise pretty good with a small screen and the seat and riding position (slight lean into and moderate weight on the bars) work for me.
I have pretty bad tinnitus so concerned about wind noise (I have a Shoei Neotec III and do use quality custom ear plugs). And how's the seat hold up for a good few hours riding across the day?

Thanks in advance of any input / advice etc

  2. I think the seating is solvable.
I found the Ducati seats uncomfortable after an hour or so (I have a std seat and one that is 15mm higher - not tried the fully 'high' 30mm one).
I bought a Wunderlich seat and am now comfy for a full day/400+ mile days. It has a better bucket shape to it, spreading the pressure. I would normally buy a Sargent seat for any long distance bike, but the price was crazy for a V4 Multi.
The only negative for the Wunderlich is the heating seems weaker, but then again, I can swap back to the std heated one, since I don't do many full day rides in winter.

Not so sure about screens/wind noise - it may depend on your height. I'm tall (6'4") and only dipping down behind the screen kills the majority of the noise. And that's a std V4S screen, not a PP screen which is definitely lower.
I'm also trying a MRA touring screen later this week, that a mate has. I'll tell you how I get on.
