  1. Whether it is work or play, vans are in our lives in all shapes, sizes, colours and configs.

Here is the place to show and tell.

I will kick off with the ex-ambulance…...

  6. The only decent image I've got of our van is from the day we collected it, and it's never been as shiny since.

It's a great place to be already, but I'm gathering the bits to do a Lithium and Solar upgrade to extend our off-grid capabilities.

But it's also still a useful van, I've been moving 3.6m lengths of timber around in it this week, with the carpet protected of course.

  9. Nothing too technical about my plans.

These two 105AH Lead Acid batteries will be swapped for a single 280AH Lithium one which is a little larger than one of the LAs but @1/3 of the weight:

The Charging system will of course be upgraded to a Victron system that will charge with the right profile.

Then the 100W panel on the roof I'll swap for a 200W one which is about 50% bigger, and I may even add another near the front:

Oh, and there is even a Motorcycle link.
I use an Oxford disc lock to lock the drivers seat in the 180 deg swivelled position as an additional deterrent to the low lifes.
It's just another way of persuading them to look at the next van along without it.

  15. My local plumbing wholesalers ( plumbing supplies in lurgan co armagh) had a phonecall from a foreign sounding gentleman asking for the owner, Jim spoke to him only to be asked why his van was outside his house, it turns out the van was parked outside a house in Milan Italy with a bunch of lowlife living in it ( later confirmed by Italian police) , Jim had sold the van some time before but hadn't removed the trade markings and somehow it ended up in Italy. Also a plumber in usa sued a dealership who bought his van and never removed the trade signs and it was next photoed in the middle East driven by isis complete with a heavy machine gun mounted in the load bay,the plumber whose number was still visible received a shit load of hate.
