  1. I apologise, Exige. I've just realised what happened here, looks like two threads have been inappropriately merged.

    Sorry!

  2. Wow... what a confusing thread.... can we have a similar one for Chuck Norris?

Corona Virus claims a black belt. Chuck Norris, Dead at 77.
Carlos Ray “Chuck” Norris, famous actor and fighter, died yesterday afternoon at his home in Northwood Hills, TX at the age of 77.
Chuck Starred in dozens of movies and Tv series which have, and continue to entertain millions of people.
He was also a master of martial arts, which was the cause of his initial fame in the movie industry.
However, after his minor inconvenience of death, Chuck has made a full recovery, and is reported to be doing quite well.
It has also been reported that the Corona virus is in self isolation for 14 days due to being exposed to Chuck Norris.

  3. So, after a terrible and tragic event we're going to have a Mass debate:) about a reaction to it which has been carried out with the best of intentions but has not been handled to the satisfaction of 100% of the population.

Appears to be the way of the world lately.

I wonder what poor sod will get the blame for the death of a wonderful but poorly lady of 103yrs?

    Nasher

  4. My Father who was a overseas WW2 veteran told me that he and quite a few of his comrades actually weren't big fans of Vera.
Father said that her singing of home actually didn't cheer them up that much, rather it made them more homesick.
His brother who was up Sword beach on D-day also said the same...But in later life they both enjoyed her singing.
Bless the old girl for bringing enjoyment to lots of folk over the years.

  5. Perhaps the two threads should never have met?

  6. This forum already has way too many threads posting on exactly the same topic and anyway, Pete’s thread had already put the news that she had died up way before @Exige started a new thread say the same thing. Andy

  7. Sorry Andy... I'll have a reread... again.
Mixed together it confused me.... perhaps it's just me

  8. Wrong - I checked no one had posted. 8 mins later Peters 3 year old thread appeared with 9 people looking as though they liked the fact she had died - I just felt it wasn't an appropriate thing to do considering, if only Peter had checked too  but if you are happy with it then that's fine with me :):upyeah:

  9. No mate it’s not you, I’m just unbelievably grumpy today. Several things have got my goat today. Hopefully a home cooked meal and a few beers later with Carole will sort me out. Andy

  11. This news today reminded me that I have a signed album of hers, it was left to me by an old uncle then a mate had a business that involved her and she signed the album, I don't think it's ever been played.

  12. Sad to hear it but talk about song and bloody dance, it’s all the news can bleat on about!
    103 is a good innings.
