Sorry I didn't make it. Had to sleep. Stressful day with swmbo and hospitals. Only just woke up....now for a cheese on toast!
About 9 guys turned up today. Some are planning to take part in the Distinguished Gentlemen's Ride on 28 September http://www.gentlemansride.com/ Also we are thinking of holding a Christmas Dinner at The Ship similar to last year's, probably on 10 December. http://christmas.youngs.co.uk/data/menus/2293_pdfmenu.pdf
Weather turned a bit nasty, despite the clear forecast. Nice to see @Count turn up on his KTM and @PeterT on his Fireblade.
Very pleasant to meet some London crew!! The ride up to town was a bit iffy with the rain, and heading back was not great either, but the Mcd's at Chobham services made up for the weather.
The rain and some London traffic, speed cameras and only a vague idea of direction made for a more interesting run than usual. Good to see how the townies live, they've got hot water and inside toilets so it was a whole new world for some. Made my commute to the square mile seem like a walk in the tulips. Chobham services is a special place, a cross section of humanity drawn to the golden arches when everywhere else is closed.
Meet today, usual time usual place. Also, we can settle arrangements for the Xmas dinner on 10 December.
I have booked the Xmas Dinner for Weds 10 December with The Ship, for eight people (me, Julian, Tim, Gaetano, Nick, Dave A, Andrew, and Fiona). You haven't booked, @Chris. I'll be going by train, not bike, so will be able to drink for a change.
No Paul or John this year then? I wasn't sure if you were going ahead this year as there was no details posted. I don't know if it's too late to book but ill probably just turn up later for a drink as usual
