I also have a lithium battery 2 pound in weight. a massive 6 pound odd lighter. I find it cranks it just fine. I have a video of it cranking on you tube. ..
I've never heard of LiPo batteries, they look impressive. Considering my Nissan LEAF is full of LiOn batteries and I read a bit about the technology a while back, I'm surprised to have come accross them for the 1st time. By the way Phil, that carpet in your garage looks manky  The bike sounds great on the dyno though.
I agree - its not like oil where improved formulation will reduce wear, if a water based cooling system is in good order there will be precisely zero benefit from using waterless coolant.
"if a water based cooling system is in good order there will be precisely zero benefit from using waterless coolant"... UNLESS the problem is caused by the coolant expanding - as in the case of Laverda expansion tanks cracking. Accepting that the cooling system is not the most well designed, even if it is in 100% top condition, there is an underlying problem caused by expansion of the coolant. If this stuff can help to alieviate that problem then it's probably worth a go...
It's one of those threads where people say "there are no benefits" when what they really mean is "I can see no benefits"...
That stems from improper maintenance (coolant should never boil, and should be changed if it has been, after the cause has been diagnosed and rectified). While people are clear on the benefits and reasons for changing oil, most people neglect coolant. My seat is 10 years old, but the cooling system is perfectly clear without a fleck if sediment in the expansion tank. Why is this? It has been changed using genuine vw coolant at the specified interval. Corrosion will not occur if factory approved coolant is used in the recommended concentration and changed at the specified interval. The use of waterless coolant would suggest to be that someone has had a cooling issue and is covering it up.....something I'd be wary of when buying a bike Water based coolant is not water, it's just an ingredient. It's like running a bike on diesel because you have run out of petrol - the two liquids are basically similar, but fundamentally different. Servicing and maintaining a vehicle is like most things in life - quick, cheap, reliable.... Pick any two.
The vw coolant is not expensive either. I'd suggest the change in coolant recommendation is probably due to vw / audi owning ducati now, and aligning the spec to what they currently purchase in vast quantities makes sense. Having said that, I'll be using vw coolant in my CBR if its compatible as I will only need to keep one type on the shelf. As I don't know when it was last changed I'll be changing it on the CBR over winter. I'll be flushing the cooling system, re painting the rad and putting new silicone hoses and clamps on it as well. Probably change the thermostat while I'm at it.
