How come I got credited with the quote in El T's last post ? Wasn't me that said that... And Ariel - no I didn't, I've always thought it was a dull game... The thing I find quite odd is that if 1% of the money that Man Utd spent on players was put back into regenerating the local area Manchester would be a much nicer place and Old Trafford wouldn't be an oasis of ostentatious wealth surrounded by industrial wasteland...
I can pronounce Katie Price's name too - doesn't mean that I want to see her on my telly! Know what you mean, though. England doesn't really have a top flight of football.
I didn't realise you are a fellow Baggies fan. The last three seasons in the PL, plus several yo-yo years, are quite a contrast to the doldrums of the '80's and '90's. My granddad first took me to a match in 1967, and I have been going ever since!
To copy a tweet from Brian Moore - "relative to the £bns income, number of participants, amount of media, it is difficult to find a bigger underachiever than English football." when we see disability sports romping it with gold after gold after gold, athletics, swimming, cricket, rugby, golf, motorcycle racing and many more all giving so much more success relative to the overpaid, underworked lot that try to pass themselves off as (a) professional, and (b) sportsmen, it does make me feel less and less interested in our "national game" wonder if a Chelsea badge tastes any different to a totally disloyal badge-kissing arsehole?
What really pisses me off - Sky TV are raising prices again. Investing in new television programs etc. BOLLOCKS. Paying too much for the wooftas running around kicking a football and rolling around as if they have had molten lead poured into both ears. I'll be cancelling it when the WSB and Moto GP are finished.
Yes indeed. There is something Python-esq about them. A supporter ever since I saw then win the FA cup in 1968. I've only seen them live three times, all away (Crystal Palace, Fulham, Wolves). Never been to the Hawthorns. It's not very local to me. One day! Maybe this coming season - it's about time. Anelka for Lukaku? Hmm. We'll just have to see how that one pans out (but seeing as they have no cash, it's probably about as good as it's going to get).
