  7. there you go chiz

  8. Plenty of low mileage diesel nearly new VW Golfs etc on the forecourts ;-)

  9. +1 for a small jap petrol car, Micra/Yaris. They may not be pretty but they genuinely keep motoring forever. Everybody has their own opinion/experience but avoiding the likes of Shitroen & anything Italian is likely to be the best advice you will ever give her.

  10. she is warming to the c1.. having just spent the last hour on the phn to her looking at car pics it is up there. to be honest tho char we are hoping to get a lower milage one even if we spend the 3000.00. there seem to be quite a few c1's around 09 10 plates with 50,000 ish miles on em within budget also although she said she is warming to em we now have to go to a yard to see one int the flesh!!:Banghead: but you rate em as a good lil car?
i have tried asking on here what is the thoughts on a 1ltr but the mases are doing a me and not being very helpful! @finm in all seriousness do you have an opinion on these lil motors?

  11. she has ruled out a micra but the yaris is in the running

  12. 1 ltr is a little lacklustre, 0-60 not quoted coz they struggle to reach 60 without a tailwind, electrical gremlins, gearbox issues & poor finish ( less impact on reliability esp considering the price point). You get what you pay for they are cheap & plentiful. Only plus is fuel economy in urban areas.

  13. their little.
like any second hand car it's the luck of the draw. personally i would buy from a forum member over any dealer or private seller. char seems honest enough:smile:. do it.

  14. the main thing with chars to me (and i really do mean no disrespect) is the mileage. although a small engine d car ticks the boxes for around town/fuel economy/ being able to insure the shed boy cheaply i do know that the smaller engines have a shorter life span as nicely as they may or may not have been treated. if she does go for a 1ltr it would have to be low miles 1. owner sorta thang.

  15. It's sometimes luck of the draw with new but that's where warranty can take away some of the pain. Some cars were simply shite new hence increasing the chances of inheriting a lemon second hand. So many C1's out there coz they are so bloody cheap. Have you seen the contract hire price! It's more f@@king expensive to walk!!

  16. dude its only 90k. my panda is on 170k. more often than not all the expensive work is required around 70k mrk.
up here my experience small cars are going through the roof in value

  17. 90 k to me is high mileage for a 10 plate! if like you say the bulk of the work is required around 70k and we are looking at motors with 50k on em given that she does about 5k a year (and thats on her motorbike, the only reason for the car is the cancer at the min and to keep her ncb going) no major work hopefully would be required for a good couple of years.. although a car with 90k on it may not have given the owner any probs during there ownership, trouble may or may not be looming! prefer to spend a lil more for less mileage meself (within reason!!)

  18. has full service history but tbh unless local not much point - no reason it won't keep going for another 3 years and at 2k that's 3 years cheap motoring

Buy from a dealer with decent warrant - any of the C1 variants are fine cheap runarounds - go drive one they're not that bad ! If not get a Yaris but less cool wit da kidz

  19. Suzuki Swift? I was thinking of swapping my Modus for one before I decided on a van. Then I bought a Ducati Streetfighter instead of a van so keeping the Modus :D
My Modus has 145,000 on it now - just gone through it's MOT yet again. No super model but a great versatile little car 1.5Dci 5 Door 70 to 80 to the gallon if driven gently, sits happily at 70mph on the motorway. Get the face lift model though as on the original you have to strip the entire car to change a headlight bulb :Rage::Rage::Rage::Rage::Rage:

  20. was looking at swifts as i have some history with em and like em but they dont come cheap
