Their website says "nationwide delivery from £99"... I would have thought that in the present circumstances, you could come to an agreement with them?
You youngsters....... Why not try a Monster 1200, I think you'll like it. You can get a test ride at your dealer.
yup, reputable dealer get them to deliver. they delivered a bike few years back to me several hundred miles away. dropped off the new one (well new to me) and took my part ex away. sorted
never bothers me when buying from decent dealer. sure they will take it back if not satisfied. wouldn't buy privately remotely though
I second that on the delivery front, save the wear and tear on the body & van etc, maybe they could do a close up walk around video for you.
IMHO, old men on sportsbikes look ridiculous. Nothing worse than a sexy bike pulling in and when the helmet comes off, its an old geezer with either white, or no hair with his belly resting on the fuel tank Its like seeing an old pensioner in a mini skirt I can say that cos I am now 60 myself and only had sportsbikes up to 3 or 4 years ago. I went all over Europe on a Daytona 675 and frankly after several hundred miles in the seat in a day, I would not have minded if the bike was stolen and I had to fly home. When you need leathers two sizes larger on the belly than the chest - its not a good look and time to move on, especially when you cant straighten up or have wrist pains after half an hours riding. Get yourself something like a Multistrada, or anything of that ilk. You will be more comfortable, you are almost as quick if you choose to be They will do European touring, track days or light offroad - and you wont have the-last-chicken-in-the -shop look in leathers anymore .... or you can keep wearing that mini-skirt of course
I’ve had a Multistrada, thanks...and a 916, 748 SP and SPS, and after my heart bypass, my stomach is slimmer, as I lost 10kg. Plus I don’t do the Touring miles.
Just gone the other way. Sold the one bike fits all one, bought a Monster for more local and fun trips, and sports bike for trackways and faster rides. But you are right: multi will be as quick etc in most cases (demo not track)
I find myself just sitting in the garage looking at mine again these days. Never did that with a multi
I sold a 748 SPS to a private buyer purely on the images and description I sent them. They paid by BACS up front, and sent a courier to collect, all remotely! Must have been happy ‘cos no comebacks. If I’d held on to it for a little longer, it’d have been worth more than the £3500 sale price!
Couldn’t disagree with you more. At 67, I don’t and probably never have cared less what other people might think about how I dress, how I wear my hair (what’s left of it), what I ride or what I choose to do. Miguel de Cervantes wrote about the madness of old age and to quote Jon Bon Jovi, it’s my life. Absolutely love my Panigale V4S whether I look ridiculous or not. If the OP fancies a Panigale R, go for it. Andy
I’m looking at this as my swan song, so I want: Something that makes my heart sing when I look at it Something special Something that’s not going to depreciate like a bomb as soon as I buy it (I bought the Supersport new, and it’s gone down like a brick) I don’t do track days, or touring I *loved* my Multistrada, but want a change .... PS no criticism of anyone’s views here, and appreciate *all* the observations you’ve given.
I am late 50’s and right now only have full fat sports bikes (4 of them inc Pani R). I sold my Street Triple RS 765 this week as being honest, it does not give the same buzz as a sports bike despite being fast and very very capable. I had to remind myself to get it out for a ride unlike the others.
