I don't give two hoots what Daily Mail readers think, nor the Telegraph, the Mirror, nor the Times, nor any of the bigoted media organisations in this country The FACTS should be available to all of us. I'd like to think theres a reasonable majority of citizens in this country that are smart enough to work out whats morally right and whats wrong. The Government should publish, and be damned if necessary. It's taxpayers funds and we have should have a right to know who benefits from our (perhaps unwilling?) largesse If theres a strong moral case,it'll probably be supported If there isn't,we know who to vote for next time
There is a huge amount of published data about overseas aid, if anyone is interested. A good starting point may be the Department for International Development website: https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/department-for-international-development
To be honest mate, you're not doing your own argument much good here. My first Google search threw out this link that shows aid breakdown by donor country, recipient country or region. Given ten minutes I'm sure all that info is there and even if it's not instantly available online a simple enquiry to the Overseas Development Agency or Foreign and Commonwealth Office would get you reams of info. The EU website has loads of information on it as well andif my experience of contacting an MEP is anything to go by then a quick email to your MEP will get you more information than you can shake a big stick at. I'm not really sure why you say "why not publish...etc" when they clearly do just that.
I don't have an argument,I have an opinion. And I haven't bothered to follow your link, because I'm certain it won't list the following: Individuals that have become wealthy from receipt of Overseas Aid. The names of Private Companies that have benefited from the receipt of Overseas Aid,or their shareholders. The percentage of Overseas Aid funds that were received by the people we think are getting it,i.e,how many tractors/how much seed/how many schools/houses were built, and how much was paid for those things. In other words,a full set of Accounts, just like every proper business Piece of cake to say,"oh yeah we sent a couple of million to this country and that country". Harder to find out how much of it went on Admin,Consultancy,Management,Documentation fees...the list is endless. And please don't expect anything that could possibly be interpreted as negative, to be published by any of the Organisations that you've named Some of them only exist because of Overseas Aid,so not in their interest to end it
