I’m am currently enjoying French reds from Languedoc And since a trip out to Sardinia, wine from the vermentino grape. Wasn’t really a fan of white wine but this is something special.
I used to do a trip every year in the car to load up 400-500 bottles from a wine region in Spain/France. Although the car looked like the suspension had broken as I very gently drove off the train, I never paid any duty. Anyone know what the form would be these days regarding duty and allowances?
Had a Picpoul de Pinet tonight for the first time, very pleasantly surprised. Saw it recommended on one of the Saturday cookery programmes and found a bottle by chance in Sainsbury’s before Christmas. I definitely will be going back for another bottle or 6. Andy
Nice Corbieres in a box this evening, my usual wine, €9.95 for the 3 litre box. If I get visitors I will normally crack open a bottle of Pecharmant, can't get that in the UK to my knowledge, it's one that the French keep for themselves.
Here is your new Brexit allowance: 42 litres of beer 18 litres (24 standard bottles) of still wine 4 litres of spirits OR 9 litres (12 bottles) of sparkling wine, fortified wine or any alcoholic beverage less than 22% ABV
Did you click on the wines and see where they physically are? All of them in France. Wonder if UK citizens can order them and what the duty would be when they get there.
Don't be remoaning. We're on the sunlit uplands. Genuinely can anyone ever remember a bigger bunch of cnuts in one place as the current government?
