If you post a pic of the indicator unit so I can see the bulb holder clearly, I'll have think and a search.... But have a look at this..... http://www.powerfuluk.com/products/...-indicator-bulb-12v-21w-(offset-rotated).html Or this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12v-10w-B...56?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item2c5f2cd500 Or this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PACK-2-12...arts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1c1f6ae95d But this should be better......... http://www.ve-supermarket.co.uk/sea...SET+PINS+-+AMBER+12v+10w+&find.x=16&find.y=12 And for the cable adjuster......is that hole threaded or plain?.....is there a 'stop' inside the hole?...... and is the nipple a removable one or is it soldered? I have a nice curved throttle cable adjuster from my Guzzi, but you would need to remove the nipple to get it on....... ........however, if you haunt Halfraud's bicycle section or any decent bike shop, I reckon you could find something like a brake cable adjuster adjuster which has a slot along it's length....... ......or.........Handle Bars :: Handle Bar Levers :: Lever Parts :: Cable Adjuster Set - Motorcycle parts - Classic, Vintage bike parts - European + British motorcycles It looks like they have several items that you could combine if necessary. Or just get a straight one and hacksaw the slot yourself...... AL
Al Just had conformation from a supplier I e mailed this morning that he has the ones I need in stock so have ordered them. I spent another couple of hours this morning visiting a German/Swedish/French car supplies specialist, and a couple of bike shops to no avail. Thanks for the links, I don't know why I didn't see 12v 10w BAX15S Amber Bulb with offset pins | eBay when I was searching. Exactly what I was after! The hole in the throttle assembly is plain and 1/4" diam. There is a 'shoulder' of slightly smaller diam about 3/16" down the bore. My throttle cable's nipple is not removable. The bicycle shop is something I hadn't thought of, I will check that out tomorrow. Many thanks for you help and advice, very much appreciated.
Or.......if you shoot into a 'garden or agricutural machinery' type establishment, I'm fairly certain you will find some sort of suitable adjuster in there. I have had a look in my box of tricks but the one I found with slot along it's length is too small I think, unless you/we can find another ferrule to stop it going right in......You could always whip the cable out and tap the hole....... .......I will go and have another look in a minute or two.... ......OK.......I've had another look and now I can't find the bike one, but I think it was too small anyway............but......... ....have a look at the Guzzi one, nylon lined......the bent bit is 6mm in diameter........the thread is approx 15mm, but I should be able to cut some more thread, at least 3mm...the adjuster screwy bit will take out at least 3mm cable because of the 'stop' inside it......and I have a half locknut which will allow more thread than the big one. Bear in mind my hacksaw doesn't go round corners, I could cut the bend off so as to get as much straight as possible, and the cut a slot along the length of the whole lot......That should remove something like 25mm -35mm from the cable slack. Do want me to do it? AL
Al Thanks for looking through your bits. Please don't cut anything up ( yet). I will try the bicycle shop and the 'garden or agricultural machinery' type establishment, first. I have now taken some photo's of the Le throttle with a ferrule that I have. The adjuster would have to be a slotted type. Also here is a photo of the Bullet indicator reflector that is a plastic injection moulded thingy, so would be tricky to modify to accommodate a different bulb! I had even considered filing off one of the locating pegs of the bulb, and forming another peg by soldering a small cylinder of copper wire in the appropriate place. I will let you know how I get on with my search for the adjuster, I hope to receive the correct bulbs in a few day. Once again , many thanks for your help, much appreciated.
Al That's got me heart racing, a magnificent piece of work. Yes, I would love it. I will PM you my contact details. Thanks again.
It takes out about 20 - 23mm of slack just fitting it (depending what you actually fit it into.....if it goes into that ferrule of yours, it will take out more) and it will then take out about another 8mm through adjustment...... If it doesn't work, I can make use of it....................on my lawn mower (a bit like an LE in itself :wink...the clutch cable is getting progressively shorter and I will need a shorter adjuster to compensate.........but I have got another if I need it.
