To be honest I could live without Birmingham or Excel, they've both been crap for years. Back in the day when the national show was at Olympia it was cramped and sweaty, but the loud music, beer and high doris quotient made it an event worth attending. And you could genuinely pick up a bargain. Now it's all too PC, and none of the shops have any excess stock to flog off cheap cos they don't carry any stock...
Every year the bike show gets slagged off but people still go. For me it gives me a little winter 2 wheeled fix
We still go cos that's all we got. I dunno how they can call it a show, to be honest, cos none of the exhibitors put in much of an effort.
For us fair weather riders it gives us somewhere to go though and oggle the birds I mean next years forthcoming models from the bike manufacturers. Who wants to ride there Ducati in the winter not me thats for sure.
No chance. That looks like a GS160 (but it looks like 150 Super side panels???? could be a rally 180?). I'd not be seen on one of those, slow.... Plus chrome sidepanels? No chance, chrome means more polishing. I had a Rally 200 that was seriously chromed up and it was a right frickin pain. I dont do chrome. Besides its expensive, does London Chroming on Old Kent Rd still exist?
I went yesterday. It was ok I'm still dithering over the Scrambler. Think I need a test ride. However they are supposedly releasing another version next year.
Was on telly last night. Went a few yrs ago but each yr is the same old same old. Not bothered as I as well as most of you, know whats what etc. I still really really like the R1.
The new one? Seriously, the styling is the worst I have seen on any bike, anywhere, at any time. And I have loved and owned the R1 in the past. The front was designed by an ex Honda stylist who then decided that it should have lights as an afterthought and the back end was designed by someone who's had their eyes scooped out with a rusty ice cream scoop. It is not pretty.
