he could pull his skin back while he is at it, make him look a lot younger, get him down to at least sixty if he pulls hard.
I was there on Saturday and really enjoyed the show. Loads to see, but us lot up here don 't get to these things very often so we're normally just happy to get to a show like this. Ducati's stand was huge but didn't really impress me all that much, maybe because I already knew about what they had on show. The Scrambler is weird, personally I'm not remotely interested in it and I'm not convinced that they'll sell all that many here. Kawasaki were the best stand for me and the H2R really backed up the promises it made in the press. Honda's range was totally boring and underwhelming, Triumph and Yamaha had a fair few nice bikes though. Somehow I hated the base R1 but loved the R1M (except for the daft headlights). The H2R dyno demo was incredible! I penned this on my day... Motorcycle Live 2014 - The Motorcycle Diary
Went today (Wednesday) and it was lovely and quiet. It was a better show than expected and we all got some good buys. H2 was impresive but what a bonkers bike!
H2? Not in a million years! Just boots, Ultimate ear plugs. The Multi will have to wait until maybe 2016?
Went today for the first time in years. Why are bikes now so small yet so expensive? Can't be design as there's so much bad design, can't be materials as there's so much black plastic....... Did like the old race bike displays from Yamaha and Kawasaki (the 1993 Suzuka ZXR-7 was my show high-light). A lot of the older bikes there were nice......which I guess means that at 43 I'm officially old! We all bought kit so there must have been some good prices/options. Traffic was a nightmare (over an hour to the M40!). Parking was a joke, not sure why we were sent into a full up car park.....then had to walk past empty ones to get to the bus stop...all for £10! Probably be a few years before I go again.
That's inflation for you but look at the engineering that goes in to them. When I was 16 the fastest you could get was prob 140. Then they released the GPZ900R wow Now I could prob do 140 in 3rd gear
You don't need to be there to see it, can hear it well enough, makes you tingle with the speed of the upshifting. Loved the green tubular frame. Ducati stand was good, the 1299S, beautiful. Scrambler, still not sure about it. Herald Motor Company had some interesting scrambler, trail, trials style bikes on show for not a lot of dollar.
I have been looking online at helmets and I cannot imagine the show being any cheaper than I have found just searching around. My brother just bought an HJC RPHA 10+ Carbon for £255 delivered off ebay with a tinted visor, they are £399/£429 locally so a hell of a saving. I was looking at the Bell M6 Carbon ( Just cos it looks nice ) it is £599 at most places but a couple have it for £499. Found it at £399 after a search and a £70 dark visor thrown in. Unfortunately after hearing from a couple who have the Bell I need to actually see one and check their concerns !
