Just been on the Abba stand website to order a fitting kit for my existing Abba Stand only to find this: This bike requires a specialist superbike stand or sky lift. You cannot buy a fitting kit for the Multistrada 1000/1100 to work with a normal superbike stand or normal sky lift. Has anyone experienced this issue before, and did you need to buy a 'Specialist' stand?
Not helpful Richard! Thinking of modifying 2x 15/16" sockets to fit the 'standard ' adaptors,I think if I remove the footpegs, I'm in with a good chance of lifting the bike. Any sensible feedback appreciated.
Sensible answer: my M1100 does not have traditional swing arm pivot point to plug in an ABBA stand. I remove the big screw that covers the pivot and install the stand in those holes.
Dropped my 2x15/16" sockets off with my local Hells Angel, who will turn down the O.D so it fits into my existing Abba stand adaptors, then hopefully I shall be able to lift the bike once I have removed the footrests.
At least with the Fugly, if it drops off the stand there's no cosmetic damage. Rooting for you, John!
I'm using a standard Abba stand with MTS 1100 fitting kit (same as Monster 1100) you just need to ty-wrap or tape the left hand riders footpeg up against the spring. Abba guy advised me to tape both sides up but there is plenty clearance with left one taped, salesman was very knowledgeable and helpful.
