Not offering now, just asked to sign up expression of interest, it's from Microsoft, gives more info at www.windows.com apparently.
The free upgrade offer will be available for 1 year after release of W10, to all W7 and W8 users.. You can take it at any time in that year. I'll wait a while before upgrading my W7 laptops but will probably make the jump when I'm convinced it's stable.
Xerox are just as guilty. As one of their tech partners, I have to run XP as a virtual machine on my MacBook just to use some of their software. I feel dirty.
If that's the case I ought to be a millionaire if I count up the number of times I've helped people sorting out their problems with XP. BTW.....I don't use IE........not because of the known issues, but because of the unknown ones. I'm not particularly worried about hackers because apart from protection programs, I disconnect the broadband connection each time I close the browser..
I am finding it hard navigating on it as they have changed so many things, I like the way it looks though its a lot more graphical which I thought would slow my laptop down a fair bit but it doesn't seem to have affected it.
I only have one of the PCs that runs Windoze and am not sure if I should try 10. I only use a couple of things on it, Gopro studio and Sena intercom software and they work at the moment. All of the other PCs use Ubuntu Linux which is far better, and easier to use, anyway.
I had mine as a dual boot system for a while with a mac operating system, but it wasn't 100% compatible it was hit and miss as to whether the drivers would some days But the mac operating system is very slick.
I did, from 8.1. No problems so far. Nice to have the task bar and a decent Start menu back. Cortana isn't very chatty.
