Is there a folding mirror you can replace them with Daz? I'm looking at the rizoma blades but you can’t really see anything with them but they look great imo. Does the 959 base plate and mirror not fit? Seems like it doesn’t lign up. Absolute needless retrograde step from Ducati. Simply staggering that the American mirrors fold but not European models.
The fact that they don’t fold is ridiculous mate I know. Having looked about I believe 899 ones don’t fit. I’ve actually managed to disassemble it and found a mirror stem on eBay. The stems aren’t stamped Ducati whereas the other bits are so being just ballistic nylon they’re probably made to be the weak point. Even though I like those Rizoma ones too I tend to prefer my bikes to look like factory as much as possible so I’ll try this stem and report back. Again, ridiculous they don’t fold, made life really difficult on the Steam Packet first time in went to IOM.
I’m the same with it looking standard. I’ll give the mirrors a try and if they snap then I might go rizoma. Saw on the US forum and it seems that theirs fold. There is a screw underneath that allows you to fold them. Not sure if this is right but it was posted by someone on there. Seems like an odd variance if true.
Interesting. I may try and source some as that sounds like what we should have had from day 1. I’ll keep you posted.
What a shame. Strange that they would make it different. Just picked up a Bayliss. Will see if the mirrors last. First break I’ll go Rizoma I think. Such a poor design flaw for a wonderful bike.
