I want to sort out my tired looking 996 fuel cap, have read a few stories on restoring and that it is a pain to take apart, but would like some tips and paint codes and someone who has done a top job on there's.
Wayne there was one on here a few weeks ago, might have to trawl through them as I can't find it Edit: https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/916-petrol-cap-refresh.78009/
Denzil is right, there was a recent thread that included repaint of the flap and surround, but it is hiding from the search engine. This one came up in the search though: https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/taking-fuel-cap-apart-996.40457/#post-714509
No, yesterday i remembered i had my old 900ss ie one kicking around somewhere and found it, swapped the locking mechanisms around and sorted it. The 996 one is a state and will refurbish it and the one iv'e sorted on the 996 is in really good condition. Happy chapie!!
